Lake Union
Offering stunning views of the Seattle skyline, Lake Union is located just north of downtown and offers amazing recreational activities right in the city. Rent a kayak from one of several kayak rental shops along the lakefront, take a sailing class from the Center for Wooden Boats, get your feet wet at the Lake Union Park wading pool – the possibilites are endless.
Lake Union is also home to holiday fireworks shows, such as Seattle Summer Fourth, a Seattle tradition for over 20 years. Enjoy the display and soundtrack in-person at Gas Works Park, or from any other vantage point around the lake by tuning your radio to 97.3 KIRO FM.
Lake Union Park hosts activities year-round and best of all, most activities are free and open to all ages. Try your hand at everything from Dragon Boat Paddling to Pond Boat Sailing, or enjoy a free public sail on a classic boat from The Center for Wooden Boats.
From houseboats to pleasure boats, seaplanes to paddle boards, fireworks to city lights… Lake Union offers a little something for everyone!
