Squaxin Park
Originally the site of the St. Joseph d’Olympia mission built in the mid-1800’s, the 314-acre Squaxin Park (formerly Priest Point Park) on the Olympia waterfront is now the ideal spot to experience the natural beauty of the northwest. With over four miles of hiking trails, nearly two miles of saltwater shoreline, a playground for the little ones, and both small and large picnic shelters, there is something for everyone to enjoy. A variety of birds can be viewed from the park, including the northern flicker, downy and pileated woodpeckers, red-breasted nuthatch, and brown creeper. Bald eagles and osprey frequent the area as well.
